Having Joy at Christmastime

The holiday season is here and with it comes the joy of celebrating the birth of Christ. As Christians, we have a special opportunity to not only celebrate the coming of our savior but to also find joy in knowing that He has come.
1. Joy in Knowing We Have a Savior
Luke 2:10-11 says, “And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.” Christmas is an amazing time to reflect on the incredible gift that God gave us in sending His Son Jesus Christ. We can rejoice that through His death and resurrection we have been given everlasting life!
2. Joy in Knowing We Have Hope
Romans 15:13 says, “Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.” When we put our faith and trust in Jesus Christ we are given an eternal hope and promise for our lives. This Christmas season take comfort knowing that no matter what happens on Earth there will always be hope for us if we stay focused on Jesus!
3. Joy in Knowing We Are Loved
John 3:16 says,"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." This verse speaks volumes about how much God loves us and it brings us such immense joy during Christmas time when we remember how much He sacrificed for us by sending His son! Let this love bring you peace and happiness during this special time of year!
This holiday season let us embrace all of these reasons why we can find joy at Christmas time! May each one of us savor this season as an opportunity to give thanks for our savior Jesus Christ who came to save us from sin and redeem us back into fellowship with God!
