Emerald Crossing VBS on Sundays: A Summer Adventure for the Whole Family

Summer is often filled with busy schedules, travel plans, and activities for kids—but what if this June could also become a meaningful season of spiritual growth for your entire family?

This year, First Baptist Church of Gypsum invites our community to experience Emerald Crossing: An Irish Adventure Through Psalm 23, a special Vacation Bible School happening every Sunday morning in June from 9:30am to noon.

What makes this VBS unique is that it isn’t just for children.

While kids enjoy an exciting morning filled with interactive Bible lessons, music, games, activities, and friendships, adults and teens are invited to stay and participate in their own engaging Bible studies and worship experiences happening concurrently with the children’s program. Instead of simply dropping children off, families can worship, learn, and grow together.

In a culture where many families feel increasingly disconnected and spiritually stretched thin, church provides something deeply valuable: a place to encounter God, build meaningful relationships, and discover lasting hope. Research from the Barna Group found that worship remains the most important church experience for regular attenders, with many people identifying worship and learning about faith as essential parts of spiritual life. Another Barna study found that many people experience genuine connection with God through church gatherings and desire deeper spiritual transformation.

That’s exactly what we hope families experience during Emerald Crossing.

Through the comforting truths of Psalm 23, we’ll explore how God leads us, cares for us, and walks with us through every season of life. Whether you’ve attended church for years or are simply curious about faith, this is a welcoming opportunity to reconnect spiritually and experience church together as a family.

Parents often spend Sundays coordinating schedules and activities for everyone else. Emerald Crossing is designed to give the entire family a place to belong. Children can laugh, learn, and play in a vibrant VBS environment while teens and adults engage in thoughtful Bible study, authentic worship, and encouraging community.

You don’t need to have everything figured out to come. You don’t need Bible knowledge or church experience. Just come as you are and join us for this summer journey from fear to faith.
